Breckland District Council is the Planning Authority for Swanton Morley. Along with other agencies, such as the Highways Department and the Environment Agency, Swanton Morley Parish Council is a statutory consultee on all planning applications in the parish. the opinion of the Parish Council is requested, and then a decision is made by a planning officer at Breckland Council, or in the case of large or contentious applications, the Development Control Committee.

Local Development Framework (LDF)
