Introduction The role of Swanton Morley Parish Council is to provide good management of the areas of the village within its jurisdiction. For those areas that the Council does not have a direct responsibility for, it is to provide a consultation role, giving other authorities the benefit of its expertise of the local area. The Parish Council currently consists of 7 Councillors who are responsible for making management policy decisions:
The Council also consists of a Parish Clerk who is the ‘Proper Officer’ of the Council. The clerk’s role is to carry out the policy decisions of the Council and to ensure that the Council runs efficiently and in accordance with the law. Our representatives on these councils are: Ingrid Floering-Blackman (Norfolk County Council) Kate Millbank (Breckland District Council) FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 Swanton Morley Parish Council has adopted the Model Publication Scheme for Local Councils. Any information relating to the business of the Parish Council (except where privacy or confidentiality is required and subject to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998), is available in hard copy upon request to the Clerk. There is no charge for this service. Also, as required by law, a copy of the Annual Return and audited accounts will, when completed, be made available for inspection by parishioners at the clerk’s address. |
