Clubs, Ameneties And Local Businesses

After a lapse of about twenty years the Club was reformed in 1983 and since then has become firmly established and successful with a membership of around forty players whose ages range from 6 to the mid 60’s. Home matches are played at the “Angel Cricket Ground,” Hoe Road, Swanton Morley which has a large car park with improved access for the disabled. The Club is a member of the West Norfolk Cricket League, games are played on Saturdays, and the Mid Norfolk Sunday League. We also run a youth team. There are also mid-week evening fixtures. Spectators are always made welcome.

Adult practices are on Thursdays from 6:00pm onwards, while on Monday evenings, 6:00pm onwards, there are special coaching sessions for youngsters (boys and girls) aged 6-14 years.

The current annual subscription is £10 with a concessionary rate for students of £5.

The annual subscription for anyone wishing to be Vice President is £20. Non-players often welcome the opportunity to support the Club in this way and their interest and help is much appreciated.

2. To create an atmosphere in which players are valued for themselves and not just their cricketing abilities.

Swanton Morley Angel Bowls Club is one of two bowls clubs resident in Swanton Morley. As the clubs name implies the Swanton Morley Angel Bowls Club is closely affiliated with the Angel public house and their bowls green is ajacent to The Angel public house and its car park. The Angel Bowls Club has been in existence for many years but has recently seen an increase in membership which has resulted in an impressive 2007 bowls season.

The club is open to anyone who wants to play the game of Lawn Bowls and a warm welcome will be given to all who would like to give the game a try. The club is very informal and a lively social calendar through the winter months has been established through the efforts of club members.
